About the Studio

Joseph T. Palmer was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and now lives in Pensacola, Florida. He holds both a BA and an MBA in Accounting from Baldwin Wallace University. He currently serves on the Supervisory Committee of PenAir Credit Union overseeing financial reporting, controls, compliance, and risk to protect credit union members’ interests. Most recently, he served as Installation Comptroller for the United States Navy at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy, directing financial strategy for more than $70 million in annual budgets across 23 departments. In that role, he partnered with senior leadership to shape mission-aligned priorities, led migration to the Navy’s SAP ERP system, and built high-performing teams that strengthened financial management as a strategic capability. For this work, he was awarded the Navy Civilian Service Commendation Medal, crediting his success to his exceptional team.

Joseph’s background also includes work as an Analyst for a DoD contractor supporting European defense operations, where he delivered insights into logistics, operations, and staffing trends across multiple European sites. In the private sector, he spent five years at regional CPA firms in Cleveland and San Diego, conducting complex audits, improving internal controls, and advising leadership on risk mitigation and operational efficiency.

Joseph is a military spouse; his wife, Brooke, is a Physician Assistant in the Navy. He spends most of his time at home with their two children, a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son. Outside of work and family, he enjoys playing and watching sports—especially football, basketball, and golf.
